ADRA Yemen is one of the biggest aid agencies in Yemen, serving 9 out of the 11 humanitarian clusters and present in 14 out of the 22 Governorates. There are about 1,500 aid workers serving the ADRA mission in Yemen.
Dr. Ephraim C. Palmero, MD a physician with extensive experience in delivering emergency health in complex emergencies leads ADRA Yemen since September of 2016. He served in Southeast Asia, South Pacific, West Africa, Europe, Nile Region, North America, Central Africa, Horn of Africa and Arabian Peninsula. His wife Melba, a Pediatrician serves as Program Coordinator for Health & Nutrition. They have 2 boys in Andrews University in Michigan.
ADRA Yemen in late 2016 have acquired Kamaran Hospital Foundation in Al Hudaydah and operated its clinical services with support from German Humanitarian Aid of German Federal Foreign Office. The hospital was the starting point for the ADRA Yemen Health System that has been supporting hospitals and primary health clinics in Governorates of Hudaydah, Al Jawf, Saada, Abyan, Lahj, Al Dhalee and Aden. ADRA Yemen have implementing partnerships with UNHCR, UNOCHA, WFP, DFID, GFFO, The Japan Platform, SIDA, CIDA, DANIDA, USAID, OFDA, LDS, DAHW and WHO. Last year 2017, ADRA Yemen have delivered and served $54 Million USD worth of humanitarian aid to impoverished and vulnerable communities across Yemen.
